San Benito Bank was formed in 1984 to fill the gap between community banking needs and the reduced personal service offered by the major banks. The first San Benito banking office opened in Hollister on April 4, 1984. As a result of community response and the expanding need for local banking, branches were also opened in downtown Hollister, San Juan Bautista and Gilroy.
